Summary of my blog

  My blog contains both educational and non-educational photos and videos. However,  my summary is solely based on educational  videos and photos. I have uploaded fives images like          ( Paro Dungtse Lhakhang, Zangdo Pelri, a cake, Thuenpa Puenzhi and a rose) along with short write up on its education value. I have also uploaded a video on my visit to Paro Kichu Lhakhang. The video is 5 minutes long and it emphasis our cultural values. Through this video you can explore the beauty of Kichu Lhakhang and its surrounding.  I have included a reflection on using ICT in  education. It basically talks about the benefits of ICT in education and how it helped teaching and learning. ICT has impacted both teaching and learning positively. It enhances creativity, access to wide range of information, foster collaboration and many more. My Learning Experiences on Communicative tools

During covid-19 pandemic, we had the opportunity to utilize communicative tools that significantly enhanced our ability to communicate effectively  and collaborate with fellow learners. Some of the tools we used . One of the tools we used was real-time communication platform. Through this platform, we engaged in text-based chats, audio/video conferences with both peers and instructors. This communicative tools allowed us to discuss group work, ask doubts, receive immediate feedback and interact with tutors or friends across the country, making teaching and learning possible.  In addition to real-time communication, we also benefited from the use of discussion forums. These forums provided a space for meaningful discussions where we could engage in conversations with our peers and tutors on various topics/ modules. we posted questions, shared information, and shared ideas fostering collaboration and critical thinking. Information and communication technology (ICT) includes computers, the Internet and electronic distribution systems, such as radios, televisions, and projectors, among others, and is widely used in education Nowadays. ICT has been successfully applied in teaching, learning and assessment. It is seen as a powerful tool for educational change and reform. Previous studies have shown that the appropriate use of ICT can improve the quality of education and connect learning to real-life situations. Information and communication technologies tend to expand access to education. Thanks to IT, teaching and learning can happen anytime, anywhere. Video on my visit to kyichu Lhakhang

Kyichu Lhakhang is an an ancient Buddhist temple located in Paro, Bhutan. It is considered to be one of the oldest and most sacred temples in the country. According to historical records, kichu Lhakhang was built in the 7th century by the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo. He ordered the  construction of 108 temples in a single day to subdue a demoness, who was causing obstacles to the spread of Buddhism. Kichu Lhakhang is said to be of the two temples built in Bhutan as part of this divine plan, with the other being Jampa Lhakhang in Bumthang.  Kichu Lhakhang has several important relics such as Jowo Jampa statue, Statue of Guru Rinpoche and many more. Kichu Lhakhang holds immense religious significance of Bhutanese people. It is believed to be a place of great spiritual power and is visited by both local and pilgrims from around the world.           ICT (information and communication technology) tools such as  informative tool, communicative tool, constructive tool, co-constructive tool and situating tools. These tools play a critical role in enhancing teaching and learning. This reflection will explore based on five ICT (information and communication technology) tools in teaching and learning.  ICT as informative tool.  Refers to an applications which provide vast repositories of information/content to learners` activity. Informative tools include graphics, animation, video, image, text and sound. By using informative tools, students can explore various information about a text or topic using different search engines. Informative tools in teaching and learning provides various opportunities for students to acquire information through  graphics, animation, video, image, text or sound. Cakes can come in different shapes, sizes and flavors. Cake is often associated with celebrations, such as birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and other special occasions. It symbolizes joy and happiness. Educational Value  By using this photo, we can teach math and measurement. Baking a cake involves precise measurements of ingredients, which can help children learn about fractions, ratios and other math skills.  Decorating a cake allows children to unleash their creativity. They can experiment with different colors, shapes and designs. Baking a cake requires patience and time management skills. Children learn the importance of following timeline.  

Paro Dungtse Lhakhang

Paro Dungtse Lhakhang Dungtse Lhakhang, also known as Dungtse temple is a three-story chorten style temple located in Pare valley. The three floors represent different realms of existence, including the underworld, human world and celestial realms. It was built in 1421 by the renowned Tibetan saint and scholar Thangtong Gyalpo. Thangtong Gyalpo was a builder of iron suspension bridges and religious structures. The temple was constructed to subdue a demon that causes diseases and suffering in the area. The temple is also a popular tourists destination due to its unique architectural style and religious heritage. Red roses have cultural significance in various regions around the world. In some cultures red roses symbolize luck and prosperity.  Educational Value Flowers play a crucial role in the reproductive cycle of plants. By observing a rose photo, students can explore the parts of a flower and its functions. Students can also explore the process of pollination, fertilization and seed formation. 

Zangdo Pelri ( Representation of Guru Padmasambhava)

Zangdo Pelri is sacred site and a renowned Buddhist monastery located in Paro, Bhutan. It is one of the most significant religious sites in the country and holds great cultural and historical importance.  Educational value  Zangdo Pelri is a representation of  the celestial abode of Guru Rinpoche                ( Padmasambhava), a revered figure in Buddhism. Students can learn about the religious significance of Zangdo Pelri and its association with Guru Rinpoche`s teaching and spiritual practices. By looking at the photo of Zangdo Pelri, students can write descriptive essay. Zangdo Pelri exemplifies the unique architectural styles of Bhutanese Buddhist structure. Students may discuss the significance of Bhutanese architecture.

Thuenpa Penzhi

Thuenpa Puenzhi  Thuenpa Penzhi resembles a symbol of friendship which relates to how four animals in the form  an elephant, a monkey, a rabbit and a bird cooperated together and lived peacefully displaying peace and harmony. Each of them possesses different strengths and abilities. Despite  their differences, they form a strong bond and work together to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. Educational Value It teaches individuals the importance of working together, supporting one another, valuing the strengths and abilities of each person in a group. This understanding fosters positive social skills, team work and collaboration. By using this photo, we can also teach about friendship, diversity and hard work.
